LATTICE Management / Sales & retention
How do you reactivate inactive customers?
Reactivate inactive customers by identifying who has a relevant reason to return, confirming permission to contact them and offering one useful next step. LATTICE Management can connect past customer activity with a segmented email or SMS workflow. Being a former customer is not automatically permission for a marketing text, and a blanket campaign is not the same as a thoughtful reactivation plan.
What should you decide before choosing?
- A meaningful inactivity definition for each service
- Current permission, valid contact details and opt-out suppression
- A genuinely relevant reason to return
- A booking, reply or purchase event that ends the campaign
Who counts as an inactive customer?
Use the expected buying cycle. Someone who has not visited a salon for several months and someone who bought a roof last year should not receive the same message. Check whether the service is recurring, seasonal or usually purchased once.
Exclude unresolved complaints, unsuitable services, duplicates and people who opted out. A list of old contacts needs review before it becomes a campaign audience.
What should you offer?
Choose something grounded in a real customer need: a maintenance reminder, an upcoming appointment opportunity or information about a service they previously used. Any discount or deadline must be authorized and accurate.
Personalize by known service history, not speculation about personal circumstances. A simple relevant message is better than language that makes the customer wonder how you obtained sensitive information.
How do you keep reactivation respectful?
Use documented permissions appropriate to the channel, identify the business and honor opt-outs promptly. Former-customer status alone is not sufficient for marketing SMS. Do not switch to a different channel merely to evade an unsubscribe.
LATTICE Management can scope segmentation and suppression rules within the CRM. The business remains responsible for the lawful purpose, permission records and content of its communications.
[1]What should you measure beyond opens?
Review relevant replies, bookings, repeat purchases, unsubscribes and complaints. An open rate alone does not show that the offer helped the customer or the business.
Use a small eligible segment first. Look for incorrect recipients and confusing messages before expanding. Pause the sequence as soon as a customer replies or takes the intended next step.
How do you put this into practice?
Define the segment
Use real service history and an appropriate time since last purchase.
Clean and suppress
Check valid details, permission, unresolved issues and opt-outs.
Offer one relevant next step
Link to a real booking or invite a useful reply.
Stop and review
Remove responders and review returns, complaints and unsuitable recipients.
